The roaring of heavy bikes at the annual event on Faaker See, or lake Faak is a unique thing to see and experience. The European Bike Week is the third biggest bike event in the world that started in 1998 as a Harley-Davidson promotional event with an estimated 15.000 visitors. The even itself was then branded into European Bike Week the next year due to a fairly good reception. In a span of a few years this small event grew into the biggest biker and rock event in Europe. And as the bikers we met liked to say, Faaker See bike event is a Faaking good party.
There is no question if the European Bike Week is a popular event – there were 200.000 visitors in 2018!
There’s plenty to see when visiting European Bike Week. Not only will you see Harley Davidson bikes of all sorts, some with incredible custom jobs, you’ll also get to see other manufacturers make their own amazing bikes. Events of all kinds happen in organized “villages”, as well as those privately offered around Lake Faak. The main point of the event is the Harley village, where campsites are located as well as the official Harley-Davidson dealership.
However the main attraction is the 25.000 riders parade that take to the road around the lake Faak!
While it wasn’t easy to capture all of the bikers in our cameras, all of them were perfect. Rock music, leather clothes, tattoos, beards and rebels at heart. What is there not to like about the bikers at Faaker See?
